It may seem like a small detail, but in fact, the fold on a newsletter is what sets it apart from just a regular poster or piece of nicely printed paper.
As simple as the concept may be, the newsletter folding (sometimes called scoring) can be challenging to a newsletter printing company. Applying a fold to a newsletter puts the card stock or paper under pressure which can cause a crack at the fold. However, if a newsletter printing job is carried out by a reputable printer, this shouldn’t be a problem and can also make a world of difference in the newsletter itself.
Again, while it is a vital part of a newsletter to be folded, newsletters can be ordered in a variety of scoring options:
*No Fold
*Half Fold
*Tri-fold Fold
*Z Fold
*Gate Fold
Additional tip: Newsletter folding is also best applied to heavy coated card stocks, paper that is at least 80#, and also to all cover stocks.
